This model is supposed to be quieter, but it really isn’t

Noise is one thing; the rake getting stuck is another! The noise never bothered me or my cats too much, but the rake keeps on getting stuck! I hope this doesn’t happen to you because it makes this contraption worthless.

Thanks for the comments…it’s been a few days and my cats seem to be getting used to the noise.  They are a bit cautious when they enter the litter box, but at least they’re using it! It’s not the most pleasant thing in the world, but at least it works, for now at least.  If my cats continue to use it, then I’m good.

I agree! This thing is so loud! I’m extremely disappointed!

In the future, know that any automatic litter box makes noise.  Even if it is advertised as a quiet machine, don’t believe it.  I had one of the original LitterMaid litter boxes; it was quite noisy, but great.  You get used to it after a while.  I bought the LM700 just because I needed a new one and figured I’d try the improved version.  You’re right, it isn’t that great, but it is a bit quieter than the previous model.  Give it some time before you give it back. Sometimes cats refuse to use any sort of automatic device, so you might just have to go back to regular litter boxes.  Good luck!

I bought this model with the understanding that it was an improvement to the LM500 which was supposed to be rather noisy.  I can’t imagine what that must have sounded like because the LM700 makes quite the racket!  My cats are scared of it, and so am I! I am going to give it another try, but I have a feeling I’m going to have to return it, if the store will take it back.  Otherwise I’ll just have to get rid of it.
