This thing was not engineered properly, I agree with you on that.  The whole idea behind the sleep timer is silly in my opinion.  So the cleaning system doesn't go on at night, and the air freshener keeps it from smelling, but it really doesn't.  You are better off getting used to the noise than having to cope with the smell.

From what I understand, the Elite models are supposed to be better than the older ones because of the newer features like the sleep timer and ionic air cleaner.  I don't know why but mine doesn't seem to do anything.  I'm better off not using it at all because of the smell that it leaves…
