The LM700 deserves an okay rating as far as I’m concerned. It’s not perfect, but it is definitely a huge help to have. The thing is rather noisy, but I hear that is what is to be expected. The rake doesn’t always get all of the litter and sometimes it just breaks it into smaller pieces. Then you have to manually remove what is left. For me, this is...

I got the LM700 under the assumption that it was quieter than the LM500, which I already own, and unfortunately I am extremely disappointed. Not only is it not quieter, but it is shaped differently in my opinion than the original. My cat pees on the sides and the rake is not long enough, leaving lots of waste left over in the pan. What a waste!

Granted that it has its issues, the LM700 is a fine machine. It is noisy, but it cleans the box like a charm. My cat goes, and I don’t even have to know about it unless I am in earshot and happen to hear the machine going. I don’t need a smelly reminder. My work is minimal and I am happy, as is my cat.

After seriously debating between the more expensive Litter Robot and the Litter Maid LM700, I went with the simpler and less expensive choice. I hope I did not make the wrong decision. It seems like a sturdy contraption, though it is very noisy. The rake sifts through the litter and removes the clumps. It takes a while for the receptacles to fill up, which is good for me, and I don’t have to clean out the box that often for it to be smelling and looking fresh. My cat seems to like it. My only concern is that the rake continues to work properly, as I have heard it can often cause problems. The litter is expensive, but I guess it’s the price you pay for some help.

For my birthday, my daughter bought me a new automatic litter box. I had used one of the Litter Maid boxes previously, so I wasn’t new to the whole automatic litter box idea. The LM700 is very similar to the one I had, plus little changes here and there. Overall, I am happy. The last one lasted quite a while, and actually still works. I still leave it around as an extra one for my cats, but they seem to prefer this one. It’s a great item and makes a wonderful gift.

I was convinced by adamant friends and family that I MUST give up my good old traditional liter pan for an automatic one that would do the work for me. So I saved up for the LM700, which is what was highly recommended at the time, and went for it. The moment I had it set up and ready to run I knew I had a made a huge mistake. My cat wouldn’t go near it and when it finally did, it got the scare of its life after it exited and watched as the machine began to clean. I had to shut the thing off and only turn it back on after my cat was safely outside. Just like I had feared, the litter box didn’t even do a satisfactory job cleaning. I decided to hold onto it, but it hasn’t gotten much better. My cat is still kind of afraid of it, but at least uses it, it doesn’t clean everything, and it smells from time to time. I would have been better off with my old litter box, but since I already have it, I will keep it for the time being.
